Luis Ordenana has eight years of experience preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses, and has a record of completion in the Internal Revenue Service’s Annual Filing Season Program. He is also an IRS-approved Certifying Acceptance Agent who can assist clients with ITIN applications. He joined Taxes Plus in 2020. He has a degree in management with a minor in business administration from the University of Iowa.

Marlene Perrin, owner of Taxes Plus, has been preparing income tax returns for clients for 42 years. She became an Enrolled Agent in 1992 and opened Taxes Plus in 2002. She has a degree in journalism from the University of Iowa and did graduate work in instructional design and technology.

John Gilroy is a tax preparer with 42 years experience preparing individual and business tax returns. He is an Enrolled Agent since 1992 and joined Taxes Plus in 2006. He operates a petroleum marketing business and has a business degree in marketing and management from the University of Iowa.

Lynne Kinney has a finance degree from the Universtiy of Iowa. She is an Enrolled Agent and has been preparing tax returns for more than 30 years. In addition to her work in the tax office, she does accounting for non-profit organizations in the Iowa City area.

Ila Zimmerman has been preparing taxes returns for more than 20 years, many of those years during evening and weekend hours. She extended her services to weekdays after her retirement from the University of Iowa three years ago. She became an Enrolled Agent in 2004 and has a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Iowa.

Joan Walton is an Enrolled Agent with 14 years of experience. She also has the primary responsibility for providing payroll services for the firm’s clients. She has a degree in finance from Luther College in Decorah.

Mary Crowley has a degree in accounting from the University of Iowa and 28 years of experience in accounting and finance. She is in her second year as a tax professional at Taxes Plus and has a record of completion in the Internal Revenue Service’s Annual Filing Season Program.

Cyril Bergeron began preparing tax returns evenings and weekends in 2022 and has a record of completion in the Internal Revenue Service’s Annual Filing Season Program. He has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Iowa and works full-time as a product manager.

Reza Karim has been preparing tax returns evenings and weekends for seven years and has a record of completion in the Internal Revenue Service Annual Filing Season Program. He has a master’s degree in economics and finance from Southern Illinois University and has been teaching economics and finance classes at a community college for 17 years.

Rose Metz is a tax retrun preparer with 30 years of experience. She is retired from a career as a business manager for area non-profit organization and has a bachelor’s degee in accounting from the University of Iowa.

Jose Francisco Juarez Vazquez is a senior in accounting and finance at the University of iowa.  He completed basic tax courses at Taxes Plus and for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program through the university, and is working part-time for both this season. He is fluent in English and Spanish, and is a free-lance photographer.
